Not sure if Shane is joking or not but how many members do you think we'll lose to this program. Seems a lot of he cars are eligible - I think my gp had a combined of 18mpg and I thought about it for a second, but this car is just my toy and I couldn't really replace it with another toy of equivalent performance. The program is a good deal tho my dad got $8000 btwn the gov and Chrysler for an 18 year old minivan.

lmao.. yeah i would drive a huffy bicycle before i drove a prius! there are going to be alot of dealers getting stuck with that $$$$ bill, having a hard time getting the info inputed to get the money from the gov....
Its going into my mechanic monday, i will let him diagnose the issue. I don't have the time to deal with tracking it down, im sleazy car salesman so im never home long enought to get to far into it.

Lol, close... im not scared of a little debt... I Would never subject myself or any of my friends to riding in a prius.... i would kick my own ass if i ever seriously thought about buying a prius! My monte has been slowly becoming a hoopty but i couldnt bring myself to get rid of it, like a nice pair of levi jeans she is broke in just how i like her

W's are worth more than what people are willing to pay for them, but thats fine with me, i can pick up replacement parts for cheap, thats always a plus in my book...

pulled battery, charged and tested. tested perfect. problems are still mostly there. New alternator.... Seems to be whining, assume from alternator.... so its going back in.. may have a defective alternator and or another problem still lingering...
My lights (dash and headlamps) where REALLY dim, i flashed my brights and the lights went back to normal... this happened a couple of times.. Any thoughts? would a bad multi function switch cause this?

LOL its going back in.. replaced the alt. i think its defective.. it was fine for a day and a half and now its all jacked up again...
Now the transmission acts like it wouldnt upshift, it acts like it slips up to ~4000 rpms then the car starts moving and acts like it will not go into 1st gear (like a 2nd gear start)... it was all fine then all at once its jacked up again.... Cash for clunkers is sounding better every day.. OHH and it looks pretty wet under the front head.... Cant see if its coolant or oil... turbo is in the way... Might be time to retire her...

my mom's 2000GP used to do something very similar to that..... i think the tranny got too hot and from the way it was explained to me, it was stuck in "long-shift mode"?.......

Shane OMG, what is going on with your car??? I just replaced my ALT as my battery would drain and drain. I took the ALT out and had it checked, it was good, so the computer at discount says. I bought a new one and put a 4ga wire going from the alt to the starter, seems to be much better. What are you using for the wire to the trunk, I am using DOuble 00. Its 1/2" thick welding wire. For your lights dimming its a fuseable link. replace them or just bypass them like I did. I still left them in the car but I think there is something wrong, so thats why I just threw a 4ga wire from the ALT to the starter. I also noticed that my rear knock sensor wire was missing. I got a new connector and soldered it on. I think that was my 3rd gear problem. Hit me up if you need help
its back at my mechanic. he thinks the alt they put in is defective. Either way they will track it down. don't have alot of time to mess with tracking down stupid issues anymore so i just let them figure it out. it seems to be fine untill the battery drains down a bit then the problems come back... the deep cycle seems to be keeping the car running but gets low and problems come back. i will know in a couple days what is up. then i get to check out a leak on the front head...
