  • Coolant reservoir swap

Has anyone replaced the long standard coolant reservoir on a 3.4 with the compact reservoir found on the 3.1 w-body's or later model GTP?? I have the coolant reservoir and hose and did a test fit on a 92 GTP at the junkyard. By cutting half of the relay box off the strut tower end it looks like it could be done by also moving the ECM and injector harness. Would like the extra room so I can remount the ICM where the stock resevoir sits now. looking for any opinions or ideas before I start...

What reservoir are you talking about the 94-97 style ones? It should bolt up no problem.

I removed that big stupid reservoir and mounted one in my front right fender, behind the lower part of the front bumper. You can use one from any vehicle that uses a remote mounted fill using a hose. Lots of the older honda's used these type of reservoirs.

I was wondering if that's where you put yours on the white w-body you have. I had planned on using a reservoir from a 94 SE as it's smaller and sits just in front of the strut tower. Now thinking that I have to put the ECM, headlight relay box, and MSD dis-4, and coil pack into the same space; I may need to put the reservoir in the fender, to get extra room. I'll have to look into it further. I only bought the newer reservoir for $5 so no loss there. thanks for the input. How easy is your access for checking/filling the reservoir, on your setup??
