Loss of Power around 4000 RPM's

Alright 1993 Lumina Z34 Automatic. Everytime i try to get the car past 4,000 RPM's it wont make it past that mark. There is like a "free-rev" from the engine. Thats the only way i really know how to describe it. The car just revs until i let off the gas. Car drives beautifully up until i wanna get on it. Tranny was rebuilt 2 years ago as well. Any ideas?

It's probably your tranny slipping. Check the fluid level, color, and smell. Report back with your findings.
