my car has had a terrible time starting and im not sure why. when i try to start it, it catches then falls on its face and i need to step on the gas and prime it a bit to get her to go. after i had it running for a while it seems to start easier.
this is all after i swapped engines to a 95' dohc. i was wondering if the fuel rails were different in this year than in my older dohc. after its on the car runs fine and doenst skip a beet. any help or ideas would be great.
    thanks.

Hmm... assuming your compression is fine, it kinda sounds like a bad coolant temperature sensor. It might be stuck reading "hot engine", which leans out the fuel to the point that it won't run right until it actually is warm. The injectors are the same across the years, the fuel rail might be a different shape, but it's the same functionality.
Okay now, that's enough of that.

wow thanks, that sounds abuot right because my fans are on 24/7 they dont shut off. i really didnt think that the temp sensor would have an effect like that. I ran a scan tool on it the other day and it said "coolent temp sensor open" or soemthing. so maybe im gonna have to invest in one of those.
      thanks
