  • Chevy 3.6L V-6 Oil Change

Does anyone know any specifics about changing the oil in the subject motor?

I have done hundreds of oil changes, but never on this engine. I was just wondering if there were any tips or hints out there.

    Thanks,

I work at an oil change and I just did my first 3.6L. Nothing special about them. Only thing as it was an acadia and it was a real pain as the filter is mounted below the exhaust manifold. So not only can you not get a visual, but if its been run all day like in my case its also super hot. Also I had to get the filter from up top under the hood, not down below under the car. Just depends on what car your doing the change on, wether it'd be a caddy, g6, acadia, malibu, etc.

Thanks for your reply Nightingale....your info helps...one quick question: Is the oil drain plug on the bottom of the engine near the exhaust pipe(s)? I think I see it, but I just wanted to make sure.

      Let me know.....thanks again!
