My gtp has 240,000 miles on engine.it has oil leaks from dummy plug vac leaks, problems with egr valve new egr installed keeps getting check eng light and it has the famous transmission problem with the od . I like this car out of all the body styles i think this is the best one, but because its old i dont want to stick a bunch of money into it to keep it on the road. So i was wondering about getting a junk yard motor and trans with about 89,000 miles on it and putting it in the car. The question that i have is it worth doing. I know the motor that i have is on its 9th life its a gm product. It burns oil also so i know it needs a rebuild, transmission i think is electrical anyone has any advise

Get an engine, rebuild it and then install it and you will end up keeping the car for many more years. Just compare the cost of that to buying another car.
