  • Idle "lope"

hello i just finished up helping my buddy put a brand new crate engine in his 1992 lumina z34 tonight. The engine & transmission are new.

The car runs and drives now, The problem is he has an idle lope and it sounds like a small vaccume leak.

But it apears all the vaccume hose's are connected. I Cannot seem to find a leak anywhere.

The leak sounds like its on the passenger side, rear of the motor.

What hose would cause an idle lope? The car idles right at about 900 RPM in park yet runs fine in all gears. But its a small lope and definantly a leak somewhere.

Anyways, If anyone knows what hose/sensor could be causing this problem i would really appreciate it.

just spray some throttle body cleaner over all the lines and see at what point the idel changes then you can find your leak.
I dont know what this means but "ASS HATS" is funny

AKA the MAP sensor is what I am assuming he is talking about. Then again, you know what happens when we assume...
