  • coolant leak..

    ok so i have put my entire engine back togetehr.. it started fine.. sounds nice.. have yet to road test the timing.. but anyways. i have developed a coolant leak. it is between the plenum and the lower intake.. as shown in the picture. any idea why it's leaking? and don't make fun of my handwriting.. i know it's girly

    well did you replace the O-ring that goes there?

        while the intake is right in front of you, you may want to replace that "quick connect" for the heater pipe. It could be the next source of coolant leak

          umm alright. i already changed the quick connect fitting mine broke. i didn't know i was supposed to change that o-ring. never thought of that ok well now i know what that is. great thanks guys.

            Check the box your intake gaskets came in. The o-ring is prolly in there. At least every 91-95 plenum gasket I've bought has had the o-ring with it (usually got felpro).

              felpro sets do have them.

                Go to Menards and get a black medium soft O-ring that fits it snug.

                  it wa in teh box with the rest of the intake gaskets. i just never saw it.. i'll be changing it probably tomorrow.

                      The guy that sold me the 92 gave me all sorts of old used parts from it, along with new parts that haven't been used (like vacuum lines, brake booster hose, and lower intake O rings). Some time I should find them (that would take a while in my room) and post the size that he had bought because they were a perfect fit.
