  • Oil Covered Spark plugs

My car has been running rough the past few days, so yesterday I pulled 2 of the 3 front spark plugs out. They had oil on the thread. From my understanding, this means eitehr the valve seal giudes are gone or oil is coming up from the pistons. How do I know what it definitly is? And how hard isit to fix?

    Thanks
    Jackie

        Carrier/valve cover gasket and/or valve cover O-rings.

severe>cam carrier gasket (upper cylinder head gasket)

The oil wouldn't even make it up to the threads if it were leaky valve seals. Wouldn't it just burn up and cause some carbon build up on the valves and spark plugs.

yeah, if its the threads, its not the rings or seals, its a gasket issue. If the tip is oiled up, thats another story. Bosch sucks also.
