    My neighbor's 95 GP crapped an alternator.. and me being the 60v6 guy i am couldn't resist the chance to play with a DOHC.. for a little $$$ of course :P

    I allready know that i'll have to pull the pass side wheel off atleast to get to it, any other tips/tricks to getting it out?

    Also, is there a fuseable link between the alternator and battery or is there a fuse in one of the boxes somewhere for it?

    drop the subframe. Its really not that hard..

      I know Jbodies inside and out but this thing is a whole other animal.. Looks like Friday night i'll start on it.

        yeah you pretty much have to lower the pass side of the subframe or pull the axel. Its much easier to drop the subframe.

          it took me about 45 minutes start to finish the second time. first time my ball joints where rusted to my control arms so it took about 3 hours to get them apart and replace the ball joints on both sides

          83 wagoneer torque pig AMC 360 hydradrive (gm turbo 400 with stock sb chrysler bellhousing boltpattern) dana 20 transfer case dana 60 front GM 14 bolt rear. 401 in the wokrs
          91 Z34 now has a hm284. and belly pan in the works

            thanks for the warning about the top alt bolt..

            I ended up making a custom wrench to get that top bolt loose, also had to add about 14" of breaker bar to it.. bastard was tight.

            got it all done, she runs like new again. I'll never do another one
