  • ICM Removal Question - HELP!

Ok guys im going to the junkyard today to pickup the ICM from my old z34. What size sockets do i need to get the ICM out?

Any other tools that i will or may need to get the ICM out as well?

    Thanks guys!

don't remember the sizes but i think its eaier if you unbolt the x-over and remove the front manifold. opens it up alot. I do remember its kind of a bitch. i would just take a complete socket set with. and a extention and a swivel/universal.

If you don't need the icm mounting braket i think you can just take off he 7mm or 7.5mm coil bolts and once all coils are removed i think the icm is lose at that point iirc.

The bolts for the coils are actually a goofy size. It's 5.5mm if I remember accurately.
I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.

Since it is so hard to get an ICM off of the early (91-93) DOHC's, I would think you would want one from another 90's 660 car. Much easier to remove off of a 3100sfi, Right?

Just grab one off a 3.8 its the same thing. The z34 has 4 bolts that attach it to the block and they ar 13mm. I have no idea about the 96 z34. I would just pull a 3.8, its right in the front.
