  • Camshaft noise--GM bulletin

Does anyone remember the service bulletin GM has for valvetrain noise in the early 3.4L "X" engine?

I had a photocopy of one page; something about removing the cams and drilling (or plugging???) an oil passage to quiet the noise. There was probably more to the "official fix" but I don't think I ever did have the entire bulletin.

Anyone got a copy, or even know the bulletin number?

    Thanks.

i could pull it through alldata if necesary, i thought it was an interesting read, even though i have no LQ1 to complain about.

It's always the pushrod guys complaining about (or poking fun at) the LQ1, rarely an LQ1 owner One of these days I'm going to drive up to your place and give you a ride in the 92 and see how much you complain about it, lol.

they are a respectable engine IMO, i'm actually looking at dropping myself into a 95-97 Z34 should one come around at the right price.

i just need to learn about all of it's particular quirks BEFORE i get ahold of one.
