pull your covers off and check rockers if there ok then i suspect a rod maybe. or check your flywheel also. just a thought

No rockers on this particular engine..

From what I hear, it seems so loud. Its either the bottom end thats shot or you have a huge exhaust leak.

That does kind of sound like an exhaust leak. Kinda LOUD!

...pull the cam cover. Very easy, remove the spark plugs and un do the center bolts with an 8mm. The cam thrust plate might e at fault too........ look at the timing belt too.

Last time my car sounded like that was when the 91 had an auto. The thing that fixed it? Tightening the torque converter bolts that my friend didn't tighten completely up when we changed out my first blown 4T60-E.

That's a bad rod bearing for sure, already been there and done that. Get a crankshaft rebuild kit and it'll come complete with a reman crank and new main and rod bearings for about $250. It's a major job and you'll need to pull the motor, but it's about the most fun to work on. Just don't mix up the rod bearing caps.

                              engine knock

i pulled to motor out, took it to the machine shop, took it all apart, and found a golfball size hole on top of #3 cylinder. wow, the valve broke in half hitting the piston which caused the hole. and chewed up the head where the valve sat. i will post pics soon,
