  • lumina and monte lower intake the same?

I got a lower intake off of a monte carlo from the junk yard to replace the lower on my z34 and was wondering if these were the same. To me they look the same and had the same casting numbers on them. need to know if I need to go hunting or not.

If they are the same year era engine's then they would be the same.

yea I guess I should have been more specific, mine is a 92 and I got the other off of a monte so probably 96+. I really didn't see any differences, are there just minor differences like different size ports or what?

I believe the motors changed between 92 and 96, maybe it was in 97 that it changed. I would think same casting #'s would be fine so it might be in 97 that the intake/heads changed.. Search and I'm sure you'll find out.

I know the upper was different but the lower seems to be the same. I read in the swap your intake to the newer 96+ version of the lq1 from the old 91-95 and it said you need to change the lowers and fuel rails. I put the lower and fuel rail from a monte on my lumina and it seems to run fine, I'll know more when I can swap out my battery cause it's kinda dead at the gas station right now.

The upper and lower intake manifolds changed to a new design for the 96 model year.
