Idler pulley hell!!! HELP Please!

ok, so the very last bolt i attempt to remove in the timing belt process snapped my t-50 torx at the tip leaving a small piece in the bolt itself. it wiggles around inside, but i cannot get it to slide out.

aside from that issue, if its that tight in there, what other options are there to get that bolt freed (aside from building a broken pile of t-50 bits).

EDIT: will remove piece with magnet, how about removing bolt? any help would be awesome!

thanks for outlining the obvious smartass. i wouldnt be posting if i wasnt having a problem with t50 bits.

craftsman makes a easy screw out. you drill into the broken piesce in the torqe bolt and then the easy out screws into the hole u drilled then u back the easy out out and pull. or if u dont have any thing like that u can always drill a hold in it and then thread a small screw in it and pulll


have you tryed using a magnet?


also looks to me as if you used a tq where the bit its self is inside of a socket, I HATE them they always break on me i use the cheap soild all on peice steal ones. I have broken so many snap on T60's taking the calapiler bride off, try using one of auto zones cheap T-50 that is all one piece not a bit inside of a socket i bet it will come right out it will prolbley only twist but it will twist back when u tighten it back up lol

You could try a Visegrip as a last ditch effort. Or you can hammer a scoket on there make sure its snug, that could work to. I have done both of them Before on them motors.

yeah I had that happen to me when I tried to remove my broken tensioner braket. A stronger torx bit, try one from Lisle's special line of hardened tools.

well, magnet got the piece out and my buddy had a duralast t-50 bit in his car that worked out wonderfully. thanks for the responses!

HEHE BUILT TO LAST DURALAST!!!! I love how they show that engine starting in that commerical...gets me all goose bumpy!
