  • Car runs too cool.

I have a 92 olds cutlass supreme beater and the car runs way too cool. It didn't bother me until now that we're getting 10 degree days and the only time I get heat is when I'm driving down the highway. I assume it's a bad T-stat.

Can anyone tell me how easy or difficult it is to replace the thermostat on these things??? The reason I ask is because I want to know what I'm in for. I really don't want to do it if it's going to involve me sitting outside in the cold for a couple hours. Thanks

Its really easy. Just remove the intake duct and air box, then the thermostat housing pipe. It should take about 10 minutes.

Thanks! I haven't even worked on this car yet cuz I haven't had it long, but that lack of space in the engine compartment looks intimidating.

I got the thermostat installed and it was easier than expected. It took me 30 minutes or so. Turns out the thermostat was in the stuck open position. It's nice having heat again. Thanks for the advice.
