  • Front Crank Seal

So I ran one of them dye kit things on my car and it turns out besides the O ring I have a horrid leak coming from the crank pulley.

Is that seal replaceable? Has anyone else done this?

if you remove the right side suspension there may be enough room to pull the harmonic balancer and replace the seal. Otherwise you'll have to drop the cradle down until there is enough clearance. Once you get the balancer off its easy; just pull the seal and install a new one with a piece of pipe.

Take a good look at the harmonic balancer where the seal rides, if it has a fairly deap grove in it you should replace the harmonic balancer too.

I have that 3.4L DOHC training video, and it said to pop a little RVT on the groove end of the balancer anyways. BUT yeah I might just replace it to eliminate the possibility

Sleeves for the harmonic balancer are available. I have one.
