93 z34 no crank

My 93 Lumina Z34 just shut off while cranking today. Car had been running fine and cranks strong. This time when starting the car for the first time today it started cranking as usual and it just shut off like a fuse blew. Now I get absolutely nothing with the key turned. Everything is comepletely dead but I did notice the hood light is on. Its not the battery and I'm just wondering if anyone could give me some leads before I dig into it. Everything looks fine and this has never happened before. TIA

Everything is dead except the hood light? I'd be looking for a popped fusible link or blown "big" fuse under the hood.

clean the aux battery terminal next to the battery the postivie lead. happened to me in my 94 gtp and i cleaned the connector to bare and put back on and its working even better. i had no dash lights no power no door lights but the chimer would chime but nothing else. even if it looks vlean clean it anyway. try that and get back
