I took my alt to a shop and he recoiled it to 130 amps and put the diode in. I do not know more other than the fact that you can buy voltage regulators for like 12 bucks a piece and solder them in relatively easily (this is usually the cause of a "bad" alternator). The guy told me that he put a "self exciting" diode in there. That is about all I know

As for the EGR I have the original plugged into the harness but just hangs freely. Ghetto, but it works. I have the 97 in place but no wires to it so it is completely useless other than to stop the gases from leaving.

The throttle body stuff is the same. The IAC and TPS are the same ones used in the earlier years so they will have no problem with the 91 harness/ecm. I had to lengthen the TPS wires to get them to reach though.

i cut the plug off a 96 or 97 3.1 engine... i checked and it fits the 96 3.4 Alt, so i assume they are the same, anyway... the reason i did is that it has two wires, one in spot B and one in C..... One is going to connect to the charge indicator and the second is going to the ignition bundle... this is what the 91 harness requires...

so problem solved... thanks guys for the help, hope this thread helps someone else in the future.
