I was just looking at a repair man. and it says that you dont have to remove the The intake (only shows u have to do so if its a 96)to just REPLACE the belt , but then On the pic walk through it shows you have to take the intake off... So what im getting at here is if you jsut wanted to change the belt for safty reasons and not mess with the time is it a must to remove the intake becasue if you dont have to it seems pretty pointless to do so inless you want to replace the UIM and LIM gaskets.

from my understanding the only reason u would have to take the UIM off is to be able to remove the rear valve cover to hold the flats down when chaning the time ???? but if all u want to his change the belt it says jsut the ps pump and timing covers...1997 Chevrolet Camaro 30th Anniversary 5Speed.
