    for removing the cam carriers so the lifters don't fall out, 96 3.4

    you have to take fuel or vacuum lines and stick it between the lifters to put pressure on them and then they wont fallout, but you still have to be quick because they wont stay put for long, only other way is to pull the engine put it on a stand and flip it upside down, but the rubber hose thing does work good, just make sure there tight between the lifters .

      other than that there is a way you can do it in the car but it is a 2 man job.

      one person tilts the cam banks foward until the other can quickly remove the 1st row, then lift and tilt more until the second row can be removed.

          i have done at least 5 DOHC's where the lifters just all fell out and went in random spots and theyve gone over 100,000km's with zero problems like that, so technically your not supposed mix up the lifters but ive done over 5 motors and had no problems, no noises so i really dont think it matters.
