It is supposed to clean out your engine. The longer the car smokes the dirty it is. I think it does a good job, but I am not sure if it wears anything down in the engine. You are supposed to put it in the brake booster vacuum line while the car is running. Might need a little funnel and make sure to pour slowly because the engine will shut off if you pour to much.
Once you poured the whole thing in I would let it idle until the smoke is about gone and then take it for a spin to get the rest out.

Don't let the engine stall when you pour it in. If it sounds like it is going to stall. Stop pouring it in and then pour some more in.
I have heard for best results pour about half the can in..Let it run for about 5 mins and then pour the rest in and let it run again until the smoke is gone.

have you noticed a differnce after doing this, this reason why im gonan try it is, somtimes when i come to stop like removring in a parking lot or somthing the RPMS will drop bellow like 500 and almost stall n somtimes it will, seems like is does more when it is warm, I have replaced every vaccum line and ran some lucas fuel treatent in the tank and i have also used Tb cleaner in the intake.. u have any ideas1997 Chevrolet Camaro 30th Anniversary 5Speed.

I don't think seafoam will fix your problem. The GM top engine cleaner is similar, and I remember talk about that were you pour almost all in, let it stall and then sit... then later start up and pour the rest in. I would think that it could possibly clog your cat if all the carbon is broke free and blowing out your exhaust...
Anyone else have any opinions? Just from looking at my pistons from the spark plug hole they look pretty darn clean.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

Read my thread. Thank me later. It answers all your questions
'93 Sunbird. 5spd, 3.1, it's fast. Oh, and 240k miles has proven lethal against Turbo Talons
I'm lurking occasionaly. It's tough because I'm usually too busy with the Army or my 5.0 Mustang. Which is for sale.

If you can get the spray then use that, I used it on my 3.4 and it worked pretty good. It may not fix the problem you are having but it's always good to have a cleaner engine. Just start the car and get it warmed up, then take off the plenum. Use a small scredriver to hold the throttle open at around 1500 rpm's and start spraying it right at the throttle plate, a little bit at a time. When the can has about 1/3 left spray as much as you can until it stalls. Wait 15 to 30 minutes and restart it. You might need to work with the throttle a bit to keep it running. After it will run on it's own kick the rpm's back up to about 1500 and spray the rest of the can in it. Then go for a test drive and blow all the crap out of it.
