  • Gasket kits and timing belt kits 91-95 and 96-97

    I just got on Rock Auto to check out the pricing on timing kits. Imagine my surprise to find that the later cylinder head gasket set is $92 more than the earlier one! I thought I'd post this info here so that you guys would have it if you need it. I think these three kits would cover most of the replaceable parts needed during a rebuild.

    Conversion gasket set (lower 1/2 of engine block for 91-97)
    CS9113 $28.79

    91-95 parts
    Cylinder Head Gasket Set
    HS9113PT1 $148.79
    Timing Belt Component Kit
    TCK192 $127.99

    Total Price for 91-95 is $305.57

    96-97 parts
    Cylinder Head Gasket Set

      Why would the head gasket be a 100$ dif? You can put 96 heads on a 95 block.

      96 Z34 3.4 SC DOHC Getrag, 284 5sd manual transmission, stage 3spec clutch, 97 engine, 97 pcm, S3 intercooler 1 of 1 Roots SC LQ1 in the world 8.5 psi.

        The head gasket kit includes all of the intake manifold and throttle body gaskets as well. Those two kits should so almost every gasket on the motor.

          Gasket kit

          What brand is that kit, Cause if they ain't at least fel-pro super duty head gaskets I wouldn't bother.You can't be cheap in this of all area's on these nice engines.I've used an abused many brands, but I've had 0 problems with fel-pro#1. I hope I don't sound like a total jerk, Im just into a quality thing when it comes to this level of a repair.

              The timing kit is AC Delco and all of the gaskets are Fel-Pro.

                i think you need the timing belt kit that matches whichever year cam gears you are running.

                just be sure if u are running 96-97 cams on that 91-95 engine to get that drive gear too as they are different. either the teeth are spaced different or there is a different tooth count between the generations.

                if u didn't get the 96-97 drive gear, i guess you could try to put 94-95 cam gears on the 96-97 cam assemblies to match your 94-95 drive gear in theory.
