  • Best Flush Tee Location

O.K., I give in. After all the work I've done on the '95 Monte Carlo, the Dex Cool issue just won't get off my mind. I've also noticed wisps of a dark substance in the coolant at the radiator cap.
I'm going to flush my system this weekend because the lows won't be below freezing. I'll then re-fill with Prestone.
So where is the best place to install the flush Tee?
I'm thinking of buying a flush, is there a best brand to buy?
    Opinions?

never used a "flush tee" - what is the purpose?

any difference from running the motor with the garden hose running into a heater hose and running with other end open ?

    i hate dexcool.

Prestone makes a plastic Tee meant to be inserted in the heater supply hose.
I decided against using the Tee.

I ended up draining out the dexcool, removing and flushing the reservoir, then flushed the system with the engine running 'til I got clear water. I then added prestone flush, ran the car and flushed it out. I then added 10 oz.'s calgon and water. Ran that awhile, flushed it, then added 1/2 gallon full strength prestone, then topped off with pre-mixed prestone. Ran that a while and tested freeze point which is at -22 degrees.
I'm no longer worrying 'cause my coolants now green

Good move getting rid of that Dex Cool. I don't care what they say, I don't trust it either.

        Good luck with your ride.
