Hey i was wondering , does any one have trouble with there fuel pump relay?? On my 01 ga gt bout a month after we got it, which was over a year ago I went to the grocery store and came out car wouldn't start , come to find out that the fuel pump relay had given out and now again you can turn the key on and pump isn't kickin on so when you go to start it , it plainly will not start so after turning key to off , On position about 15 times the other day it finally kicked on and car started right up... So do you all think this is the fuel pump relay or not ... I know when it happened last time the chevy garage replace it and it worked good after that ....

I haven't heard or seen much on the pump relay going bad on the gen5 GA's. I know there has been issues with the harness connector at the pump becoming corroded and turning into a poor connection, which tends to burn up the pump motor. It is a good idea to replace the pump relay when the motor's replaced though.
Next time it happens, have someone hold the key in the crank position while you're lightly tapping on th fuel tank with the side of a hammer (be careful if your tank is plastic). If it fires right up, it's a pump motor going bad.N-body enthusiast:

Wed. after work ,, i went home got my ga. gt and went back into town washed it and it wouldnt start , finally after turning the key to the off and on position at least 15 times it started right up , but then about 20 min. later same thing happ.... Well under the hood in the fuse and relay box , about 3of the relays are the same so i took the horn relay out and put it in the fuel pump relay spot and ever since I haven't had one prob. with it not starting... So dealership must have put a bad one in when they replaced it...
