finally got the trans temp gauge working.
It only gets to about 170. would my oil temp be about the same because of it being in the same radiator?
who knows how accurate those gauges are anyways...but it is nice to get an average and then see when the system is stressed

humm cause my scaner read between 180-190 when the car is up to temp for the trany but that is the factory gauge... so not sure if it is off or what.

no. your oil temp should be hotter because it's running through the engine. which is hotter than the tranny due to combustion.

the lower the tranny temp the better off you are. i used to have a chart before my computer exploded, but it showed basically how much longer the tranny lasts for ever 10 degrees cooler it gets, and the difference was exponential.

My trans takes about an hour and a half to reach 160-170, rarely goes to 180. But it is not too hot yet, this has been a cool summer here in cali.
