  • goofy rev limiter?

picked up the 93 z34 today.

    i notice this:

in park if you stab the gas it bounces around at 4k - hitting the park rev limiter. in gear, punch it and it hits 4k and acts like it's hitting the rev limiter. push it easily and it does the same thing. car is an automatic with an FFP chip.

    any ideas?

could the switch on top of the tranny be bad and not telling the computer that it's in gear and not in park?

Yeah, definitely sounds like a good possibility. Not sure what else would cause something like that.

Does he have the park rev limiter like I do in my 96. My car has a rev limiter of 350 if the car is going under 2 miles an hour.
