TEM in Napa CA is the shit.
The machinst, Rich, pays attention to everythings "yeah 8 thouth is to much"

I gave him a new oil pump for the engine, he started taking it apart. Im think wtf hope he isn't charging by the hour... I asked him why. He never accepts oil pumps as they come. Inspection of the cover shows that is indeed not flat, and that I will loose pressure there. Sands that on the bench. Then he takes out the gears, mics them, then sanded the teeth for about 15 min. He used a 6" fine flat stone thing. Then I knew what a oil pump is supposed to feel like.

Rich has a separate assembly room, last guy had a brake lathe next to the table he 'put mine together on'.

Engine will be done tomorrow. Next I will put it in.

I wish all new parts were built this way as even new stuff can be out of tolerence.
