  • Was this a good deal?

I just won this off of ebay and i was wondering if it was a good deal or not. I sure hope that it is faster than my 93 auto with 152k.

why'd he list it as an automatic, even tho it's a 5-speed?

124,xxx miles - I'd wonder when the clutch/timing belt had been changed, along with other records for the car.

I don't know if I'd pay that much for a Z ... but that's not to say I'm not jealous of you now.

I've only ever driven this kind of car with an auto. The auto was ok but it was painfully obvious that the gearing was less than perfect.

The 284 should definitely give it more jam after you get off the line.

My first 3.4 DOHC stick car was my Fiero. After the first real run after breaking the clutch in, it took my plastic surgeon 5 hours just to get the stupid grin off my face!

the Z34's with the 5-speeds are extremely fun to drive to say the least - if I had the means to pick one up, I would ... quickly!

Yeah, seeing as I've only driven one auto 3.4 car(and that was with a bad rod). I can tell you 5speeds are the only way to go in these things, IMO. You'll see a real difference.

With that said find out if the clutch and t-belt have been done.

Edit-I just realized I knocked up a 2 week old post, my bad.

It all depends on the driver. I've seen mid 14's to low 15's.

I was also wondering what it should run. My current 93 Z auto will only run a 16.2 regurlarly and on a colder day it will run in the 15.9s. What do you think the 5 speed should run with say an intake, 2.5in. catback, dogbone mount, and chip? Mid to low 15s maybe? I am decent with a stick but i have never dragged one. I am really excited about getting it though.

You got a deal ONLY if the getrag has a remanufactured sticker on the housing.

Some good manuals get more than that esspecially with a good body.

Sigh I miss my GTP, I make enough now I could pay the person that bought my GP GTP 3k to buy it back really soon.....Oh well I wish I never sold my getrag....

                        I don't buy mid 14s... Every stock Z34 I've ever seen has been a solid 15 to 16s car.

A Camaro has better power-to-weight, less traction issues, and more bottom-end torque for the launch and plants solid mid 14s.

Then don't buy it intill you drive it LOL.

The 5 speed was not really stock it had to be ordered as a Manual after 1991 and 1/2.
