  • What gauges should I get?

Well, I got the 3 pod pillar and I am open to suggestions

keep in mind vital stuff and ease of installation

    1) Oil Pressure for sure; found out that it is a 1/8th thread

    2) Trans Temp?

    3) Oil Temp?

Basically going to go with black bezel and face, white numbers, red pointer. I kinda like the red digital I found on summit for Oil press and Tranny temp.

Maybe I should get one BIG ASS RPM gause that changes color when my automatic tranny should be shifting

I wish I needed to put a boost gauge, maybe a NOZ bottle pressure gauge if i go that route.

    Dude, Noz, yeah, cool.

Sounds like a good start depending on what you have already done to the car. I know if I ever get an extra 3 gauge pod it'll have boost pressure, air/fuel, oil temp. (just try and figure out what my next mod will be. )

There seems to be a pattern there.

the air fuel gauge seems interesting, will that help me tune my car?

      oil pressure
      oil temp
      a/f ratio

      sound good?

        In a word.... Yes

The long answer... Well honestly, I don't know the entire ins and outs of it, but someone around here should. The basics, it keeps you in the know of how rich/lean you are running and which way to adjust according to how you want your car to run, more power? run a little richer, better gas mileage, run a little leaner.

You will not be able to use the data from a regular a/f gauge to tune the car. You will have to get a wideband O2 sensor. Only then will the af gauge be any where near accurate enough to use for tuning.

what year you got? cause there is this awsome gauge called the intercepter. it is for OBD2 and will read any sensor that goes into the PCM it is on my list of things to get. it also reads SES codes
