  • DOHC? or LQ1?

LQ1 is very unique. Get's my vote. Or, you could call it....The "X".

Less than 12% had one. Overall. Mine is 6%. Stantman has 2, Ragtop Cutty LQ1s. That is in the lower 1.50 range!

What is odd, the only place LQ1 is mentioned on my car, is on the upper radiator hose.

Well, honestly I like LQ1. Because it is simple and you guys all know what I'm talking about. But if I say 3.4 DOHC or Twin Dual Cam to anyone else, it doesn't seem to matter either way. Because nobody I talk to know's shit about engines, never mind GM V6's. Maybe if I throw out 3100 or 3.1 or 3.8 they may have a sniff, but in regards to my engine, not a clue.

These seem to be very rare around here. Maybe because they are ultra reliable, or maybe because everyone is scared of them, because of a bullshit negitive rap they seem to have.

                      Sorry about the mini-rant.

Appears several prefer LQ1. (Cept that German guy) So,... what does it stand for? Anything? I could surmise the "Q" being quad... And Oldskools' is evil! Has flames you can't see.

Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't it the RPO code for the engine?

RPO codes are the codes for everything your car came with from the factory and they can be found on the spare tire cover. there is a list of them on w-body.com and you can cross reference them to find out what your car came with. for example FE1, FE2, and FE3 are the suspension codes for most w-bodys.
