                PRE-FINAL UPDATE.

talked to him today they are done. going to try and see if i can get a little time off to pick them up.

for all the g/bers, there is the situation of shipping. you have 2 options.

1.standard packaging/boxing and will be inexpensive but if it bends in shipping it is on you.

                2. this idea was given to me by one of the g/bers. i will buy some wood and sandwich the cover between 2 pieces of it and ship it that way. shipping will be more b/c it will be much heavier and i will be charging for the boards too. the likelyhood of anything getting bent then is remote at best.

lmk which method you guys want and we can go from there.

Do you know about how much the shipping will be for the two options? If ones $7.00 and the other is $30.00 that might persuade a few people. But for me, I'm not the least bit worried that the 1/4" aluminum might bend, Especially if it's 6061 (not that I asked for 6061, or care if its not) So for me just a cardboard sandwitch, and some packing tape.

                  Thanks!

                    FINAL UPDATE:

picked them up today. as promised they are in the mid-high 90% accurate. "drawing some of these curves was tough" explained the machinist.

i did a quick inspection, there seems to be a little excess material in the curve next to the bolt hole below the power steering pump. nothing a grinder/dremel couldn't fix.

that was the only thing i could note.

fierobsessed, your shipping preferance has been noted and if i do not already have it, pm me your address and i will get you a quote. thanx for all your patience.bobby.

i can also display individual pics if you have aol im or msn messenger.

p.s. i can polish any of yours if you request for 20 bux. just throwing it out there .

Can you let us know the difference in cost between the shipping options?

                      They look great!

personal opinion here but i do not think any of the 1/4 inch ones need to be sandwiched but the 1/8 ones do.

difference in price will be from added weight and whatever i have to pay for wood.

i can't really do an estimate without charging you for the wood. i do not think the wood is that much . wild guess add 50% to whatever it usually cost for the added weight

Have to say, they really look great.

                          Thanks!

Too bad I'll still have to mill for the belt and tensioner... oh well!

                          Nothing I can't handle though.

WTF? I was skeptical, but those look really good! Is that made out of thick plate? I want one! And get started on the cog covers! Powder coating would be sick... PM me with some backside pics.
