i wouldn't bother with the dyno. my guestimations on power is about .01 hp maybe. this is mainly for peeps who either want to ditch the a/c, have fieros and can't use the compressor, or like me whose car 's a/c was broke to begin with and just sees dead weight sitting there.

well for me it is 2 out of 3 b/c want to do a fiero swap eventually. what i was getting at was i was wondering if you could do 1 set of test with what you have and 1 set with the stocker crank pulley on?

i haven't gotten to the machine shop yep to make the final change there or contact the local parts store for another pulley yet. work has picked up this week.

I will test it for you, I am sure though that I will gain a few hp though. My a/c compressor is pretty screwed up and doesn't spin too well, quite a bit of drag there for sure.

As well, just out of curiosity, why do you want me to test with the stock and with the u/d pulley? I'm not seeing how it will make a difference when we are just spinning a freestanding pulley. Enlighten me!

you are absolutely correct. i would appreciate it if you could use both. if you need i have a stock serpentine belt laying around if you do not have yours.

in that aspect, no it does not make a difference. but when i use this freestand kit it effectively changes the serpentine geometry slightly and what may work well for 1 crank pulley might induce belt slippage for the other. i would really like to know this be4 i try and offer it up as a group buy to avoid angry emails later .

Oh wow, I wish I would have seen this sooner. There is already an A/C delete pulley out on the market. I have one on my car right now, and it only cost me $22. It fits any GM V6 with the Harrison A/C compressor.
I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.

Okay, I see. Yes I have the old belt still. I could still test it out for you - happy to do so, but, it may be worth waiting for oldskool to reply with his pulley info first. At $22 it sounds like it may be quite difficult to compete with that price. We'll see.

indeed. but would you consider testing mine anyway and i will just keep the prototype for myself since i am almost done?

edit: actually, we will see on this b.c i don't even think i could complete mine for 22 bux. hell, i will just buy one.

                hook us up.

Its up to you Bobby, either way, let me know. I'm sure you would like to have one of your own innovations on your car for yourself though. Good job none the less buddy!

Ah. Mine was a bit different in that I had to modify part of it to make it work, but it works fine. Looks exactly the same as the one I have.

even though the whole thing is dead, i couldn't bring myself to scrap my stuff even if i would have saved a few bux.

here is a pic of the prototype. i have 1 adjustment left to make it my own working prototype. surprisingly enough it uses the same belt needed for the ffp ud pulley but that is bc the other 2 are bigger. if i had stock alt and wp pullies, i would have needed a much smaller belt.

i'll probably post 1 more time when it is 100% just for the hell of it. enjoy the mockup on my pos shortblock.

edit: i tightened up and knocked the pin out of the crank and put on the damper for proper alignment. also, even though it is painted the bracket is aluminum and when i have the dough to spare the plastic pulley will be replaced with a billet one to match it's companions.
