my motor lost its mojo!!

Hey boys, I have a 91 Z34 that has sat for a year and a half. I just had replaced the shifter cable, got it towed to my house and now it is just collecting dust and bird poop! The engine tried to turn over. the starter is good, a brand new battery was put in, but I can't seem to get ol'Betsy to turn over. Does anyone know of a reliable and trustworty mechanic who can look it over. Its a hot car and I am dying to get out of my buick and into my Z!! Summer is almost here, any help would be appreciated I live in the Toronto area, Thanx!!,

Change your oil and filter, then pull the plugs and spray some WD-40 into the cylinders. Give it a day or 2, install new plugs, and I'll bet Betsy will crank. If it runs, don't be surprised to see some smoke and some missing for a bit. Probably surface rust from open valves. Run it a few hours, then change your oil and filter again..
