  • oilsending unit location on 96 DOHC

Can somone tell me the location of the oil sending unit on a 96 DOHC? My current engine is a 95 DOHC and the sending unit is located right above the oil filter, but the replacement crate motor does not have one in this same location. It does have two plugs in the block on each side of the oil filter, could one of these be it?
    Thanks for any help!!!

RE: oilsending unit location on 96 DOHC

god it has been so long since i done this.

hey, when i retrofitted a 96 into my car i ran into the same thing. there is a threaded hole in the side of the block facing the cool fans. that is for the oil sending unit on a 96-97 motor. simply remove the unit from your old motor and put it there. your stock wiring will fit np.

    EDIT:
1 thing though the 96-97 motor has 2 fan switches 1 in the rear side of the engine and 1 on the front, don't confuse the fan switch hole for the oil sending unit hole. if bad comes to worse i might have to snap you a pic.

but u will need to buy an additional fan switch to plug that hole for it in the front of the engine if u are retrofitting into a 95 i assume.
