Well, the engine is almost back to its original form. After all this time (October 3rd is the last time the car was started) All those little things that kept popping up, ordering parts, saving money, waiting for some halfway decent weather, etc, etc. I got the cams back on, already for timing tomorrow morning, then add the fluids, and let 'er rip! Hope it all works, I got a lot of extra bolts lying around. 'Course, isn't that the way its supposed to be?

Well, it WOULD have been done right about now, had some greater being not decided to throw a monkey wrench into my plans. Looked everywhere for a cam gear puller, nowhere to be found. Autozone, Napa, Bumper to Bumper, no where had it. So I went to the dealership, said hey I need a tool, they said sorry, not unless you work for a dealership. I said shit. They gave me the number for the place they order tools from, $125 for a goddamn puller. It wont be here till Thursday, and I had plans to use the car Friday. Definatly cutting it close, I can see myself outside working on the car till 1 in the morning again, as I dont get done with work until 6. Shouldn't really take that long, but it will sure as hell seem like it. Sorry for the rant, but I get pissed goddamn it!1993 Lumina Z34 - Broke Yet Again

Tell me about it! Is there anything else that would work? The pullers in the stores around here are all too big to fit. . . I was gunna try just using a hammer and punch, but that would prolly fuck something up with my luck.
Hey, how come I don't get one of those cool little ribbons on my avatar? I need to be pimpin too, ya know!1993 Lumina Z34 - Broke Yet Again

I think I used a small two arm puller from Kragen 10 bucks...
I like to put a socket between the puller shaft and the cam bolt.
If we are talking about the same thing that is.....95 MC Z34 Black

Yea, I'll do that. I just used a regular Craftsman harmonic balancer/steering wheel puller, three 5/16x2 1/2 inch bolts and nuts. The heads of the bolts slide into the slots in the gears just like the normal tool, then I tightened the nuts down onto the cross bar, and thats it. Just turn the screw as you would normally. I called and cancelled the order for the 125 dollar puller this morning.1993 Lumina Z34 - Broke Yet Again

Well, it wants to go. It turns over, has spark, and will actually run with the help of some starting fluid. I am wondering if its not getting fuel, last week when I tried it, I could hear the pump running, but not tonite for some reason. I'm baffled.1993 Lumina Z34 - Broke Yet Again
