  • 3000 rpm rev limiter in park??

I haven't test driven my car yet after the timing belt change... and I thought this was kind of interesting... It only lets me rev to 3k rpm when in park (haven't tested in anything else..) Is this normal, or did I screw up the cam timing??? Thanks in advance for your quick responses!
Okay now, that's enough of that.

fweew... that's good... but what's the point of it? Is it to keep the timing belt from launching off?

Its to keep you from blowing up your motor/tranny with neutral drops.

Weird thing is that in neutral when you're not moving, it also has the 3k rev limiter. But when the car is moving and you pop it in neutral, you can rev right to 7000. I was moving like 70 km/h at the time.

Hey it's just over rev protection. If your car is idling in park and something goes wrong like your little cousin jumps on the gas, you are not going to blow the engine but in neutral you can rev it to the shift point before it limits. I guess they assume who ever put it in neutral knows what they are doing.
