hahahaha, yeah...kinda funny how that turned out too. He and I went back and forth calling each other names and saying how dumb the other was....and now we are cool and all. In fact, he is the one I sent the DOHC heads to for the CNC work. Funny how things work out sometimes. However in this instance, im not bad mouthing galen at all, just pointing out the flaws in his logic. Reading aaron's posts has made this thread more worth it though....and the support from everyone

The funny thing is, I really don't have anything against Ben either. At least he is trying to learn all he can about one platform. I would be interested to see how his opinions change after he has his flowbench running for about a month. It will probably take that long just to play with it and experiment with a single port of a head. I predict at that time his beliefs will fall more in line with the "in God I trust, everyone else must provide data" beliefs that I have. He will also have the data available about maximum port flow and lift to assist a person wishing to regrind cams.

Oh yea, for those of you who didn't graduate in the upper half of your 8th grade class, there is a big book out there called a dictionary (sorry, very few pictures). This is a book that, if you don't know what a word means, you can go there to find out. Since it is a little too close to being an educational book, I am pretty sure many of you do not have one handy. Lucky for you, they also have an online version. I will use the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, since it is really the standard in the industry. The definition for fluid is:

Function: noun
: a substance (as a liquid or gas) tending to flow or conform to the outline of its container

Ive been learning all I can about this platform since 98, and started porting in 99. Ive learned a lot that isn't platform specific as well but everything I know I have applied to these motors. Thats why I am starting my business, because I am an enthusiast, not a money seeking hack job (yes, they are out there...which is why your attacks were that much more ridiculous). It will fund this site, and fund my product research, win win situtation for everyone IMO.

Well lets see, someone has already ported DOHC heads and flowbenched them. They didn't get any flow gains until .2 lift, and the real gains were closer to .5" lift and continued to .6" lift. Whats thats going to do for you?

I have plenty of heads to do testing on once my bench is working. I will also be testing intake porting on the heads to see what the intake porting does to the flow details. Ill make use of it, thats not the issue. The issue is you were telling me I am a hack job because I am not using the flowbench, and because you were reading my advise to others, which sounded contradicting out of context. The questions that were asked were much different and the answers were valid for both.

My attitude wont change....I mean, flowdata doesnt prove shit for NA operation...and thats the only easy way to compare heads. Track times would be nice but who ports just the heads and doesn't do anything else. Then you are comparing a package....which is exactly what I will be selling as well. You also have tuning the computer for the modifications. Too many factors between cars, especially cam timing since that also makes or breaks the performance of the car.

I say do not ban Galen. There is no reason to. He is second guessing someone becuz what they said didn't make sense to him. TO me that is good. People second guessed my headers every time I brought them up, and some still do. Would I ban them(if I could)? No way, it is good for them to be second guessing me(to a point of course). He in no way insulted Ben, he just merely called him out, which again I think is good. By calling Ben out, it forced Ben to say what he does and how he does it. I didn't want this info just to learn how to port my own heads or anything, I merely wanted it to see what his tactics were. As for me, I wouldn't trust him to do a $1,000 port job without giving me flowcharts. It is just something I'd want as a consumer. I'd want more than him telling me about the car that they put a different set of heads on. Again, it is in no way bashing or deserving to be banned, he was just calling him out. And I kind of side with Galen here obviously, becuz I do think too many people here take Ben's word to be the word of God when it comes to W-bodies.

I am not flaming him tho, and I know that he knows more than me, and probly anyone here about the motor. I just want proof of his heads. I belive him, but am not ready to spend that much for heads that he says will help.
