  • Heater Vents

    hello everyone!
on my '92 STE the only vents that blow air are the floor and windshield, it doesn't matter what setting I use.
Anyone experience this before or have any suggestions on how to fix this, its getting annoying with winter coming around.

Check your vacuum lines that run behind the engine and towards the front by the cruise control unit. They are hard vacuum lines that crack and split and break and melt (well maybe not melt but you get the idea). Those are the most likely culprits I think. I know that when I rigged my vacuum lines up, the cruise control and ac vents started to blow out the fronts instead of the floor and defrost.

thanks for the reply, I checked most of the vaccum lines that I could see and they were good. Are you talking about the EVAP vaccum lines that run behind the motor, I checked those they look good. I also disconected the HVAC ball in the front bumper as I think it may be leaking so I disconected and pluged the vaccum line, however that didn't solve the issue.
Anyone have a diagram of all the vaccum lines on the motor so I can do an in-depth check of them.

I had the same issue. The vacuum lines that control your HVAC are located at the drivers side fender, just south of the battery. In fact, the vacuum ball hose runs directly to the vacuum tee (it may be a check valve) that controls the vacuum to your HVAC. My tee had broken in two, and I was only getting floor and windshield air. Look down directly between your cruise control module and the battery.
