which got melted, it was the "lead" i had the wire connected to, to go through the firewall. 2 lessons learned; disconnect the +pole, and never use a hanger again but the good news is that it still starts/runs, and hud still works. i will most likely take it all apart to get back there, i know my radio wires are fried; no display or lighting from it(might be that i cut the power cable to it), speakers occasionally hum/crackle

Man, that sucks. Who would have thought a hanger could let you down. But yeah, what he said fuse everything. Another good thing to do is run one large wire 10-8 guage (fused) through the fire wall then branch off from there inside the cab, using a small fuse block. Good luck.

the dash is almost off, but there an U shaped bar inside the dash(upside down) that has 2 7mm screws, which are upside down and above the steering column. at the end of each side of the U, there are those "pop" plastic things(2 @ each end). those are a pita! the ones under the gauge cluster, by the 2 upside down 7mm screws, i had to cut their heads off and pop it down and out on the floor. so if anyone knows how to get the U disconnected from the dash, please tell! :P
