yes, i kno i have posting alot, lots of Q's, this one blow my mind, i have just a resonator right now no muffs, at around 6 to 7 k when i sift into 2nd or third i ahve a 1 foot flame from the tail, not normal as far as i know, what causes this. i have only seen cars with plugs in the exhaust doing this on decel of motor, now this is with my new motor , the old motor did thid too, its fast but it seems like the rpms don't climb as fast as they should. everything is stock right now ecept accel coils, it had delco befor and still did the same. any input would be very helpful. maybe this is normal with no mufs but i've seen cars with straight throughs without this.just about everysensor is new, and Both motors have done this.
    vrrrooooooooooooooooom i need new exhaust

VERY rich fuel mixture at higher revs. No cat to eat the fumes. It is normal for the situation but not really good for the car. Check out a NASCAR race some time, between shifts they shoot a nice flame out the side.

why would it be so rich, even after a new motor, different injectors and all new ensors, or is the dohc designed that way?

In your other thread you said that you weren't revving the motor that high because it wasn't broken-in yet... but in this thread you say you are shifting it at 7000... which one is it? LOL

And yes, the stock fuel mixture is very rich on the DOHC.

Or maybe those Accel coils. I have heard bad things about them, like having to replace them something like once a month, or something to that extent. My friends Eclipse that we rebuilt and put the turbo on is doing that right now because he doesn't have his fuel dialed in with the AFPR and it's running really rich right now when he gets into the boost.

If you are blowing gas out your ass, it isn't necessarily bad, if you are on a decell mode. That's when Nascar does it. Latent fuel. Do it on accell and you have a timing problem. Doing it on a shift isn't bad at all without exhaust.

I was talking about the Accel coils. The yellow name brand "Accel". I have heard from people that had them on their cars having them going bad all the time, so they went back to stock and didn't have a problem with them after that. Although tuning the decel part of the ECM wouldn't hurt either, but I bet those coils aren't going to last long if they aren't bad now.

I was talking about blowing flame on acceleration, that would be a bad thing.

Stock timing and having no cat will cause severe backfires.
