  • 3.4 DOHC gas milage

I drive in city all week long well that last 2 times i did a average of what my gas milage is. I drove 233 miles n filled the tank 12.2 gallons.. So im gettin bout 19 miles to the gallon.

The week before that was 12.4 gallons n i drove 245 which is bout 20-21 miles per gallon. Is this good or bad?

My drive information center is right on target too. What are other 3.4 dohc gettin in gas milage?

That's good for city driving. Try the highway too. I recently checked my milage and I was getting 34-35MPG highway @ 100KPH, 33MPG @ 110, and 30MPG @ 130KPH. I was very satisfied with the numbers.

I get between 20 and 21 MPG in rural city driving and 27-28 MPG on all interstate/state highway driving. Only mod I have are dynomax mufflers and a 9" K&N. This is a 93 3.4L DOHC and a 4 speed auto. Numbers are with or without AC.

My numbers are without AC, but I kicked it in for a bit to see the difference and it dropped it about 1-2 MPG.

Just got back from a trip to Gatlinburg Ten. Over 500 miles one way. I got 22-23 mpg with the cruise on 75. Sometimes 80-85. There was a variable here tho about 3/4 way out there I lost 4th and lock up and was running 3300-3600 RPM for long periods of time. Slill have not figured that one out. Im kinda thrilled tho to get that kind of mpg!

We had a rental car once. Monte w/ 3100. It lost lockup, and sometimes overdrive I think, but the speedometer acted funny at the same time, so I blamed it on the VSS.

Oh yeah, I avereaged 14.something one tank because I couldn't keep my foot off the gas pedal.

I just averaged it yesterday and got 26.1mpg. That's mainly highway but some city driving also.

The best I've gotten is ~30mpg all highway. I've seen as low as 11mpg in the winter. (Remote start )

I've seen mine as high as 36 mpg..... and that was with me, my dad, my brother, and enough luggage for one week loaded into the car (easily 800 lbs), on a trip to the Outer Banks of North Carolina... with A/C. Normally though, it only gets about 22-24, in and around town and a few highway trips.

What the hell is wrong with my car, 50/50 City/Hwy get's me 20MPG (the best I've ever gotten was 22mpg on mostly highway). If I got 33 I wouldn't contemplate buying a smaller car for commuting (I have to drive 60mi. round trip 2 - 4 times a week).

Maybe you should try shifting earlier.

So shifting at 2500RPM isn't taking it easy?
