  • Come get my 1992 Cutlass Convertable

I have a junk 1992 Cutlass Convertable. I have the orignal 3.1 engine out of it, I belive it has blown head gaskets. It is missing theplanum andmaybe a few other ewngine parts/sensors. I was originally going to put a 3.4 in it, but I ended up keep stripping parts from it. I don't want any money for it. Here's the deal:
You get my car, it needs a lot of work, but the body is excellent. You really should use it for parts only since I do not have the title. You have to take the 3.1 engine, the 3.1 Engine from my 1995 grand am (blown head gasket), excellent engine though. The Cutlass engine has the trainy and the cradle with it. The cutlass can be towed, it has all for wheels on it. The Ole Ball and Chain is all over me and is forcing me to get rid of it.
It's your's for free. You just have to take all the junk with it. I am going to keep my current 3.4 and trainy, since I always like to have a spare for my other car.
I live in Columbus, OH. In case you are curious, I would like to have a replacement top for my current convertible, and some new carpeting and a the factory cd player, and some new struts. If you do not want to take it all, I would consider a trade for specific items. I have pretty much everything you need to get it running again. My wife is just pissed at me and wants it out of here. Now, what kind of deal is that? Email me at my wifes email lrstanley@wowway.com.

Here is the irony of this deal! I have been looking for a Black Cutty for a long time to match my Red Cutty. (RednBlack) I wanted one that needed some work so I could get it cheap. I also wasn't going to travel far to get it! Then...... "Enter Stantmann" (excuse the pun). After a couple of E Mails and a short visit...Done! The irony hasn't ended... He lives exactly 42.3 miles away. Car is EXACTLY what I wanted, (well. ...maybe a little more, it's a RAGTOP!!!) and the price is, well you already know that! And I have my choice of engines to install. 3.4 DOHC or 3.1. End of irony? Not quite! The guys name is Dennis...My name is Dennis. One of the nicest people you will ever meet! And so am I! ( I keep telling myself that. ) To my new found friend. All I need to know is.. What kind of beer do you drink? And if you don't drink beer, tell me what you do like. TY!! And of couse you know my wife is going to hate us both untill she actually gets to drive the car... It happens every time I get a new toy!! Wife> <Me

I paid for Ben and myself to fly to Ft.Worth Texas to pick up the 92. 1077 miles, and 16 hours 15 minutes. It was worth it all though.

Well, it is home now. A pretty site....A Red and a Black Cutlass. Side by side. If I can get them to mate, I will have a lot of little baby Cutties runnin' 'round! Hmmm, now what engine do I go with?

Find a 3400 and put it in it. I've heard the DOHC with a Cutty Conv. is a bad idea because they weigh so much.

What weighs so much? The Cutlass or the 3.4?

That is interesting. I will make my decision as soon as I go through the car and the salvage yards, (I know where a DOHC is), weigh the options, see how much I want to put into this car. I really want it to be a mirror of the Red one. Except for the Ragtop. So that is a big plus for the DOHC. I am not looking for a race car, just another cool Cutlass! If I go with the DOHC, since stantmann gave me the car, the other 2 motors are available for anyone that wants them. Same price. Free. You have to read the first part of this thread to find out what they are and contact him for further information on the engines. I live in Southwest Ohio, so take that into consideration. Actually, my decision has been made. DOHC. Have to have the mirror image. What is Black on the Red one, will be Red on the Black one! This will be a long work in progress. And after I figure out what I need, there are other parts here for free. And now, I have to go unload this stuff,(there is a lot of it!) and find out what I have to keep, and what gets given, and what gets trashed! More to follow....................See News at 10!(No emoticons here)

Ahite! Here's the deal. I found this car to be too much to invest money in, as I have more work to do on mine. Body parts left after stantmann and I raped it are good. Drivers side fender is gone. Anything else is free. Ask for parts available. You have to pick up in SW Ohio, (Dayton), or I can ship. (You pay shipping.) There are also 2 engines, for free! 3.1 from the Cutlass and a 3.1 Grand Am engine. Ask stantmann for more info on the engines. Better hurry though................. It will soon turn into a beer can or two! (or 24)
