  • LQ1 Weight With Getrag 284 and Accessories

My winter plans had a major wrench thrown in them. I lost my winter space for the Grand Prix so it is in my garage with the other toy and my daily driver is outside.

So the motor swap is on sooner than later. I want to pull the LQ1 with the Getrag 284 still attached out the top. I think if I use a load leveler I can get the right angles on it to clear. I don't have a load leveler yet and I am looking to buy one but I need to be sure it can take the weight.

So what would the LQ1, 284 and ALL accessories (except a/c compressor) roughly weigh in at?
I'm looking at a load leveler with a 700lb capacity. A conservative guess on my part would be DOHC with accessories = 500 and the 284 150 which is an acceptable weight for the load leveler but I'd like to hear others chime in that may have a better guess as to the total weight I'm looking at.

    No ideas?

    I basically need to know if the LQ1 + Getrag 284 < 700lbs.

The a/c compressor will be unbolted and I'll likely remove the upper intake manifold and power steering pump.

I guess no one knows... I bought a 1/2 ton load leveler just to be on the safe side.
Man, the dohc section just doesn't get the traffic that it used to. I guess I'm not helping that cause considering I am swapping it out for an LX9.
