Not that this will add anything to the thread, but I have an 88 Fiero with a 96 DOHC motor attached to the stock (fiero) Isuzu 5 speed. Most told me that since I already had the trans to keep it over the 5 speed Getrag. I have a 4:10 4 speed in the garage and also a 284 out of a 91 Cutlass. But still chose the Isuzu. I just didnt want to have to fab up trans mounts, axles and stuff. I have been following V8 Archie for over 15 years and for the most part what he say's is true about the FWD Trans, it will handle the HP and Tourqe of the V8 motor. The new Trans of choice for the Fiero guys is the F40. THey are being used by all the LS1, LS2 and LS3 guys. There is even a LS7 rolling around with one.
