Some guys have ran a 245/50/15 but iirc they crown a little and wear prematurly. I ran an odd size 235/55/16 and really like them wore prefect and had good traction. The stock wheels are only 6.5" wide so you can only put so much meat on them.. the TPG's ran a 245 but they had 8" wide wheels so you can see why they would crown in the middle on a 6.5" wide wheel.

I agree. I have run 245/50R16, 235/55R16, 225/55R16, and 225/60R16. My favorites were the 235/55R16 and 225/55R16 tires. They had the right width, the right sidewall, and handled the best. The 245/50's worked and looked better than stock, but not as well as the others.

I had 245/50/16s on my Z34 on crosslace wheels, and they too wore on the inside prematurely. Had it aligned twice and it made no difference. Once I switched back to 225s, I had no problems.
I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.

Only 6.5? I'm starting to feel special that L bodies got 7" wide wheels. LOL

          I didn't know TGP wheels were 8" nor 245mm. That's pretty cool.

Yep.. most 1st gen W's have 6.5" wheels (aluminum wheels, Stock steel's are narrower). I can tell you the TGP wheels rub the fenders over big bumps on Z34's, i had my TGP wheel on my '92 L67 z34 for a while... the fenders don't flare out enough i would get another set if they didnt rub. My White Z34 w/ Gold X-lace wheels looked tough.
