  • Oil Leak

Hello I have a 1997 Chevy Monte Carlo Z34 with the 3.4DOHC and it has just developed a small oil leak. It seems to be coming from somewhere towards the passenger side.
Is there a common oil leak on this engine?
Anyone have any ideas of what it is coming from?

    Thank you

passenger side is where the accessories for the engine are. Lots of places to leak from. You would have to get a flashlight and follow the wet spot (insert fat chick joke). I would start with getting under the car and following the drips up as far as you can get. Continue on from the top side if you can't see any farther and use a mechanics mirror if you have to. Are you sure it's oil and not power steering/tranny fluid? Leaking oil is like lightning and will follow the easiest path to the ground sometimes a leak that looks like it comes from one part actually starts somewhere completely different. could be anything.

There is the notorious distributor plug oil leak under the plenum. do a search; lots of threads on that.
