HP gains at or under 5hp are REALLY, REALLY hard to prove. Hell, I did back to back dyno runs and there was a 3hp difference EACH RUN. How can anyone prove there is a 5hp gain? Not that it matters, every little bit helps.

That is what a mustang dyno is for. Its much more consistant/accurate than the dynojet.
That is to say, if we had a magic tranny with 0% drivetrain loss, would a mustang dyno yield 210 HP on a stock magically flawless DOHC?

Well Im not so sure about the 3.1s numbers, so Im not sure what that means...
But I was told that the mustang dyno takes away from true HP to give a better idea of real world results.
Trying to figure out how to word what they explained to me.
Ok, for instance, a 210 HP 3.4, considering a magical 0% drivetrain loss, would dyno a 210 give or take say 10 HP because of inaccuracy
Now I have been told that a Mustang dyno out of 210 would yield like 190 (number pulled outa my ass) give or take maybe 1 HP to inaccuracies
That is to say THe mustang dyno, although more accurate run to run, will give you a lower number to simulate actual on street performance. What "on street performance" is I have no idea...wieght and and friction or something I guess...
I have no idea if this is true or not. If not, I guess the people who say it are just using it as an excuse as to why their car gets bad numbers

Personally I could care less about "real world performance", way too many variables for such a simple thing.

You probably are thinking of weight, friction, and wind resistance most likely. Either way, I don't think that the weight of the car should matter on the dyno, your getting the power to the wheels regardless of the weight. I do remember reading something where someone was messing with a chassis dyno and entered in different weights for the car when it asked for it, and the numbers for hp and tq had changed with each different weight setting.-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

My old hs has a mustang dyno, and from talking with dave last night, dave from colorado, i now realize why so many high powered cars came out with lower numbers at the wheels.
