  • How Heavy

Anybody know how much a 93 olds cutlass supreme with LQ1 weighs? The door sticker says 4500 but I know it's not that heavy Thanks

  • #2
I thought the LQ1 W bodies were around 3400 lbs. At least that's the number I remember hearing floating around a while back.

a lq1 W is around 3500lbs. the convertables weight more than the regular w-bodys. so 4500lbs isnt far off..

            That is one heavy whale!

I think I remember one coming in to the tech center and one that was fully loaded (not a vert) weighed in at around 3800lbs.

atleast most of our cars were built in the beginning of the unibody age.. I think the new challenger is somthing like 4800lbs...

I dont see how a convertible could be 1000 pounds more. Im interested now I assume a truck stop is where you would get your car weighed correct?

a w-body wasnt made to be a convertable.. GM added a TON of braces to strenghthen the unibody and still its not as strong as a normal W.

A friend weighed his 1994 LQ1 'vert and it weighed in at a portly 4056 lbs.

Damn never new it was that heavy. Im really surprised my vert moves as well as it does being that heavy, me and friends with v6 camaros n firebirds race often and my cutlass can beat those. Im really interested in putting the lq1 in a fiero or equivalent weight car. 4000-2800?(fiero)=1200 lbs so i could gain 100 hp theoretically. Cool.

My Z34 w/ 1/4 tank of gas and my fat ass in it was 3480. I don't see a convertable being that much more. I was gunna guess 3600-3700lbs.

I don't really believe any of those sites. 3680 might be correct for a 3100 or 3.1 car but the LQ1 is a VERY heavy engine. Plus take a real good look at a convertible. Between the top workings and the extra bracing (LOTS of it), that adds a lot of poundage.
