OK.....now that I have about 3-4K miles on my swap.....I have some comments and questions for you guys. No specific order:
- I am getting a low voltage error from my rear O2, which is weird, as I am not running a converter. It sets the MIL sporadically.....but I want to bypass this. I don't know how it is getting a low voltage error, as that means a lean condition....which should not exist. If anything, I should be getting a high voltage error. Maybe it's the small exhaust leak I have around my downpipe?
- I put the "spacer" shift kit in the 4T65E I put in during the swap. I think it was the ZZP version..... Bottom line, I can't even tell it has a shift kit. Weak. If anyone is scared about running the suggested spacers stack....don't be.
- This engine is SMOOTH! I love how it idles so nice, and how smooth it is on the highway. MUCH better than the 3100
- It obviously has more power (even down low) than the 3100 (I can light off the tires from a slight roll), but it *feels* like a pig under say 3000rpm.
- In contrast to the above comment.....damn, that 50-80 roll on is NICE! Puts me back in the seat....
- At idle, when hot, my oil pressure light pulses with the oil pump pulsation. I get no knock or other signs of bad things happening....but it IS low. I put 5w30 Mobil1 oil in it, I think I am going to switch to 15w50. Is this normal? Why did the 96-97 engines do away with the oil cooler of the earlier cars?
- I still have a *slight* oil leak from somewhere on the timing belt side of the engine....down low. Not enough to sweat, yet, but it is annoying. I do have a new front cover to swap on.....which I will do when I have to change the timing belt.
- Speaking of....I bought a Gatorback belt from Autozone when I put the engine in. How many miles should this be good for?
- This engine gets better mileage than the 3100. By far. I averaged 22mpg with the 3100 and the 3.4 DOHC gets 25 on average. Same gas, same drive, same car....different engine. This *might* have to do with the 3100 running a set of 95 electronics, and the 3.4 running 1997 ones. Dunno....but this was a nice suprise!
That's it for now.....thanks again for all the help you guys gave me in sorting out the swap, and thanks in advance for any replies to my questions above![smile](https://www.60degreev6.com/vb5/core/images/smilies/smile.png)
